Work Place violence - Background:
On November 12 three employees were brought to the supervisor’s office for an incident that had just occurred. Two (1 & 2) of the three were obviously shaken and upset. The third (3) employee appears calm and collected.
According to incident reports written by the four staff, who were “near by,” “this has been brewing for quite some time.” According to the witnesses, who are willing to speak, they say that the two employees who were upset and shaken (1/2) were each physically threatened and one was physically assaulted by the third staff member (3). One witness saw (3) throw an object at (2) and swear and threaten both of them. Another witness saw (3) swing at (2) and there appears to be a mark on the upper right cheek. Other witness statements are vague and not convincing.
In a check of the area and offices of all three employees it was discovered that threatening emails and facebook posts have been made by all three of the employees. A journal of events over the past six months was found in (1)’s desk. It outlines over twenty events where they claim (3) verbally threatened and intimidated both employees.
The office has a total of 12 employees and 3 supervisory staff.
A disciplinary action was taken and employee (3) has been terminated.

Management should be looking to sustain their discipline and labor should focus on saving their union member. Please detail evidence you would present, witnesses you would call, and make an openning and closing statement. Essentially act as though I am the arbitraitor and sell your case to me. This is called making your case on the papers and happens quite a bit. This may be turned in by 9/24/15.
