Looking to design prototype simple thermostat with separately mountable LCD display. Two thermistor temp inputs. One 220V 10a relay output. Its to run a water chiller, set point is fixed at 6C. So one of the temp input measures water temp. Switches 230V 10A relay on if Water Temp >8 and off it temp is <6 C. (Hysteresis avoids rapid switching). The second temp input switches the relay OFF (regardless of the water temp) if its temperature input exceeds 35C. Ideal is to protect from overheating. Its just monitoring the air temp inside the unit. The LCD should display the two temperatures and the relay status, eg 10 28 1 Could mean water temp is 10C , air temp is 28C and the relay is ON. No temp adjustments are needed. We will pay for hardware and costs to ship to us. You design and build, so quote for your time only. Ideally LCD is on a ribbon so it can be panel mounted. Any platform is acceptable, arduino, raspberry or bespoke. Whatever is is cheapest overall. Board can be power by external transformer, you don't need a power supply building on the product.

I have built and deployed temperature-controlled relay systems before — including a cold storage monitoring system with thermistor inputs, hysteresis-based relay switching, and live display output. Exactly the logic your chiller controller needs. My approach: • Arduino Nano — cheapest, well-supported, fits the job perfectly • Two NTC thermistor inputs with 10kΩ voltage dividers on ADC pins • Relay logic: ON when water temp >8°C, OFF when <6°C (hysteresis), safety override OFF when air temp >35°C — independent of water temp • 16×2 LCD on I2C (only 2 wires to ribbon, cleaner than parallel) showing e.g. "W:10 A:28 R:ON" • 230V 10A relay module with flyback protection, isolated from logic board • KiCad schematic + compact PCB layout, Gerbers ready for fabrication Delivery in 2 days: PCB files, firmware, wiring diagram. I will build and test before shipping. What connector type do you prefer on the ribbon between the LCD and main board — JST or standard 4-pin header?

Hi I can design and build this thermostat prototype for you. I have more than 15 years of experience in electronics, MCU programming, PCB design, electronic system design, and HVAC system design. I have developed custom embedded controllers, relay control systems, industrial monitoring devices, and temperature-control products, so this project fits my expertise very well. I fully understand the required operation:- - 2 thermistor inputs - 230V 10A relay output - Water temperature control with hysteresis - Over-temperature protection using second sensor - LCD display showing water temp, air temp, and relay status - Separate LCD connected via ribbon cable for panel mounting - Fixed setpoints with no user adjustment needed Example: `10 28 1` = Water 10°C, Air 28°C, Relay ON Control logic: - Relay ON if water temp > 8°C - Relay OFF if water temp < 6°C - Relay forced OFF if air temp exceeds 35°C I can provide: - Schematic design - PCB design - Firmware development - Prototype assembly/testing - Reliable relay protection and sensor filtering - Complete source files and documentation To keep cost low and reliability high, I would likely use a compact MCU-based design instead of a Raspberry Pi. The system can be powered from an external transformer exactly as requested. I can build the full working prototype and ship it ready for testing. Thank you Best Regards Hamza Elecronics Engineer

Hi, I have reviewed the specifications for your water chiller thermostat. I can design and build a robust, cost-effective prototype that handles your dual-temperature logic and relay control with high reliability. Technical Approach I will develop a custom control board featuring: Dual-Input Logic: Fixed hysteresis (On >8°C, Off <6°C) for water temp and a safety "Kill-Switch" for air temp (>35°C). Power Handling: A 10A-rated relay with proper trace isolation to safely manage the 220V load. Modular LCD: A 16x2 or OLED display connected via a ribbon cable for easy panel mounting, showing real-time temps and relay status. Hardware Choice: I suggest an Atmel/Arduino-based architecture for maximum reliability at the lowest cost. Critical Project Questions Thermistor Type: Do you have specific NTC thermistors (10k/100k) in mind, or should I select and calibrate the board for a standard model? Display Distance: How long should the ribbon cable be for your panel mounting? Power Input: What voltage will you provide to the board (e.g., 5V, 9V, or 12V DC)? Relay Load: Is the 10A load inductive (compressor) or resistive? This determines if a snubber circuit is needed to protect the relay. As an Electronics Engineer, I will ensure this prototype is safe, precise, and easy to integrate. Best regards, Toka Ahmed

Do you prefer a ready-made relay module for the prototype, or should I design the relay driver circuit directly on the board? I can build this as a simple reliable chiller thermostat using an Arduino Nano or similar low-cost controller. The design will read two thermistors, show water temperature, air temperature, and relay status on a separately mounted display, and control the 230V 10A relay using your fixed logic. The water sensor will turn cooling ON above 8°C and OFF below 6°C, while the air sensor will act as a safety override and immediately disable the relay above 35°C. I will keep the firmware clean, commented, and easy to adjust later if you ever want different thresholds. I can deliver the prototype design, wiring/schematic, firmware, tested relay behavior, LCD display output, and short build notes. Hardware and shipping can be billed separately as requested. Thank you.

Hello, the main design priority here is reliability and simplicity, not complexity. Your thermostat logic is straightforward, but the key engineering risk is safe temperature sensing accuracy combined with robust relay isolation for 230V switching. The best low-cost solution is a dedicated microcontroller platform (Arduino Nano / ATtiny) rather than Raspberry Pi, since it offers faster startup, lower cost, higher stability, and simpler deployment for fixed-function control. The primary technical focus will be dual thermistor calibration accuracy, stable hysteresis control (ON >8C / OFF <6C), and hard-priority overheat lockout at >35C regardless of water state. Relay driver protection, opto-isolation, flyback suppression, and safe PCB separation for mains voltage are essential for dependable long-term chiller use. A remote LCD on ribbon cable is practical and ideal for panel mounting, with firmware displaying water temp, air temp, and relay state continuously in your preferred simple numeric format. I can design the schematic, PCB/prototype, firmware logic, thermistor interface, and build-ready hardware package optimized for lowest total cost while maintaining electrical safety and dependable switching performance. Regards, Engineer Muhammad Uzair.
