Tally has no cloud API and nothing to push - it exposes an XML/HTTP gateway on port 9000, and it only answers WHILE TALLY IS OPEN with the right company loaded on that machine. So a "real-time" CRM/e-commerce sync isn't Tally pushing out; it's middleware POLLING that port on a schedule - and it goes silent the moment that PC sleeps or someone closes Tally. True unattended sync means Tally runs on an always-on machine (or as a service). Worth deciding now - it changes the build, not later when the sync mysteriously stops overnight. On the migration: Tally's XML import is order-sensitive and not idempotent. Masters (ledgers, stock items) must load BEFORE the vouchers that reference them, or vouchers fail silently - and re-running can duplicate. So: masters first, validated, then vouchers, with a closing-balance reconciliation (opening + vouchers = closing) that proves nothing dropped, not just "it ran". Two questions: which external platform first (CRM, e-commerce, or ERP)? And is the Tally machine always-on, or a desktop someone shuts at night?
