I’m streamlining our project tracking and want a clean, reliable set of Jira automation rules put in place. The main areas I need covered are automatic issue creation, seamless status transitions, timely notifications and alerts, plus a tidy way to manage our test-related scripts so they trigger at the right moments in the workflow. Here’s the flow I have in mind: • Issue creation – rules that open new stories, bugs, or subtasks based on incoming data (API/webhook) and pre-set conditions. • Status transition – hands-free movement between “To Do”, “In Progress”, “Code Review”, “QA”, and “Done” states, including any needed validations. • Notifications & alerts – context-aware emails, Slack messages, or in-app mentions so nobody misses a hand-off or a blocker. • Test script handling – attach or invoke existing test scripts automatically when an item hits the QA stage, with results linked back to the original issue. I’m on Jira Cloud and have access to native Automation, plus apps such as ScriptRunner and JMWE if you prefer to extend functionality. Once complete, I want the full set of rules documented, commented, and exported so I can re-import them to other projects later. If this sounds like something you can knock out efficiently—ideally in a few focused iterations—let’s get started.

Hello, I will set up your Jira Cloud automation rules covering issue creation via webhooks, status transitions with validations, context-aware Slack/email alerts, and automatic test script invocation at the QA stage. Every rule will be documented, commented, and exported for easy re-import to other projects. On a similar setup, using condition-based triggers instead of broad listeners kept false notifications near zero, which is the biggest pain point with Jira automation. I will apply the same approach here. Questions: 1) Are your test scripts stored in a tool like Zephyr or Xray, or as attachments on the issues? 2) Do you prefer native Automation rules first, with ScriptRunner only where needed? Let me know and I will map out the first iteration right away. Looking forward to your response. Best regards, Kamran

Hello, I can see the hidden pressure here: you don’t just need Jira rules, you need a workflow that moves cleanly without creating noise or broken handoffs. I’ve worked on automation-heavy web and business systems, and I can help build the Jira Cloud rules for issue creation, status transitions, alerts, and QA-stage script handling using native Automation, ScriptRunner, or JMWE where it adds real value. I’ll also document each rule clearly so it can be reused or imported into other projects. I’ve shared an initial estimate based on your description, and once we go over a few technical or functional details, I’ll confirm the exact cost and delivery schedule. Looking at your flow, I’d like to clarify how test scripts should be triggered and how results should link back to each issue. Should the QA test scripts be triggered from Jira conditions only, or should they also call an external test runner/API? Looking forward to your reply so we can finalize the exact plan. Thanks, Asad

Hi, your "JIRA Test Scripts" project is right in my wheelhouse. I build modern JavaScript apps end to end — React/Vue/Next on the front and Node/Express on the back, in TypeScript where it helps. Working with javascript, testing / qa, software testing, api, automation, I focus on responsive, fast UIs, clean component structure, and reliable APIs — no page-builder shortcuts. I'll lock down the scope and key flows first, then ship in reviewable increments. Can we hop on a quick chat to align on your requirements? ⭐ 5.0/5 from a recent client: "Very Professional and On time delivery of the project" Final timeline and cost will be confirmed in chat after a complete understanding and documentation of the project expectations in detail.

Greetings, I see that you're looking to set up a reliable set of Jira automation rules for your project tracking. You want to ensure smooth issue creation, automatic status transitions, timely notifications, and effective management of test scripts. My approach would involve leveraging Jira Cloud's native automation features, along with tools like ScriptRunner and JMWE, to create a streamlined workflow that meets all your requirements. I’ll start by defining rules for automatic issue creation based on incoming data, ensuring that status changes occur seamlessly throughout the lifecycle of each task. For notifications, I can set up context-aware alerts to keep your team informed, preventing any miscommunication. Lastly, I’ll ensure that test scripts are properly linked to the relevant issues in the QA stage, making everything tidy and efficient. Looking forward to collaborating on this! Hi I can configure a clean, reliable Jira Cloud automation setup covering issue creation, status transitions, notifications, and QA test script handling. I will start by mapping your current workflow and incoming data sources, then build rules using native Jira Automation first, extending with ScriptRunner or JMWE only where needed. The rules can create stories, bugs, or subtasks from API/webhook payloads, move items through To Do, In Progress, Code Review, QA, and Done with validations, and send context aware alerts through Slack, email, or Jira mentions. For QA, I can attach or trigger existing test scripts when an issue reaches the QA stage and link results back to the original issue through comments, fields, or attachments. I will work in focused iterations, test each rule with sample issues, document the logic clearly, add comments where supported, and export the automation set so you can re-import it into other projects later. Best, Justin

Most automation problems come from mixing simple rules with ad-hoc scripts—resulting in brittle workflows and noisy notifications. The real win here is a clear separation: use native Automation for event-driven, low-complexity actions and reserve ScriptRunner/JMWE for validations and scripted transitions that need context or API calls. My approach: iterate in three focused sprints—(1) implement incoming-webhook → issue-creation rules and basic status transitions, (2) add validations/post-functions for “Code Review” → “QA” → “Done” using ScriptRunner or JMWE, and (3) wire notifications (Slack/email/in-app) and a test-script invocation flow that attaches results to the originating issue. I’ll document and export each rule with comments and provide importable JSON/templates. Suggested stack: Jira Cloud native Automation for most rules; ScriptRunner/JMWE for complex conditions/post-functions; small Node.js webhook microservice (hosted on AWS Lambda or similar) for any custom parsing, external API calls or test-runner triggers. Store scripts in Git for versioning. I’ll leave rules modular so you can reuse them across projects. Previously built similar automation for Zweidevs Internal—centralized project tracking, webhooks, and Slack notifications—rolled out across teams with documented imports. Quick question: are your test scripts stored in a test-management app (Xray/Zephyr) or as repo files that need an external runner? If that’s good, I’ll draft the first rule set for review.

Hello, As a result of a detailed review of your project requirements, I fully understand the scope and expectations. I have experience setting up Jira Cloud automation rules, workflow transitions, notifications, API/webhook-based issue creation, and QA-related automation, and I'm available to start your project right now. I bring strong expertise in Jira Cloud Automation, ScriptRunner, JMWE, JavaScript, API/webhooks, Slack/email notifications, workflow validation, Testing/QA, software testing, and automation rule documentation. One of the key challenges in projects like this is making the automation reliable, reusable, and easy to export/import across future Jira projects without creating confusing or fragile rules. For your Jira setup, I can create rules for automatic stories, bugs, and subtasks from incoming data, configure hands-free status transitions across To Do, In Progress, Code Review, QA, and Done, add validations where needed, trigger context-aware Slack/email/in-app alerts, and connect test scripts or test results when issues reach QA. I will also document, comment, and export the rule set for reuse. I have a couple of quick questions. • What incoming data source will create the issues: webhook, API, form, or another tool? • Are test scripts already stored in Jira, GitHub/GitLab, or another test management system? I would be glad to discuss further details and am ready to start immediately. Best regards, Carlos.

Hi, your real need is not just “some Jira rules,” but a reusable Jira Cloud workflow that creates issues from incoming API/webhook data, moves them through the right states, alerts the right people, and connects QA scripts back to the original ticket. This fits my automation work well. I’d start by mapping your current Jira statuses, triggers, and test-script entry points, then build the rules in focused passes using native Jira Automation first, with ScriptRunner/JMWE only where the built-in rules are too limited. I’ll also document and export the rule set cleanly so you can re-import it into other projects later. Can you share one example webhook/API payload and the current Jira workflow statuses? Thanks!

Hi, I'd love to help streamline your Jira Cloud workflow with a clean, scalable automation setup that reduces manual effort while keeping your team aligned. I can configure end-to-end automation for: * Automatic creation of Stories, Bugs, and Subtasks from APIs, webhooks, or custom conditions. * Smart status transitions with validations across To Do → In Progress → Code Review → QA → Done. * Context-aware notifications via email, Slack, and Jira mentions for approvals, blockers, and handoffs. * Automated QA workflow that attaches or triggers existing test scripts and links results back to the originating issue. * Native Jira Automation with optional enhancements using ScriptRunner and JMWE where advanced logic is beneficial. The solution will be modular, well-documented, and fully exportable, allowing you to import the same automation into future Jira projects with minimal effort. I also comment complex rules for easy maintenance and future updates. I'm available to start immediately and will deliver the implementation in focused iterations, sharing progress regularly so adjustments can be made quickly without delaying the project. Looking forward to helping you build a reliable, low-maintenance Jira automation workflow. Best regards, Dhruv Patel

Hi, your Jira workflow should remove manual handoffs and keep every issue moving through the process with consistent automation instead of relying on team reminders. I'll configure Jira Cloud automation for issue creation, status transitions, notifications, and QA test script execution, using ScriptRunner or JMWE only where native Automation isn't the best fit, while documenting every rule so it can be reused across projects. The result will be a maintainable automation framework with exported rules, clear comments, and reliable end-to-end workflow behavior delivered in a few focused iterations. Are your existing test scripts managed within Jira, or do they run through an external tool such as Jenkins, Xray, or another testing platform? Best regards, Muhammad Saad K

Getting Jira automation right means thinking through trigger logic and edge cases upfront, otherwise rules fire twice or miss events entirely. I would map your workflow first, then build and test each rule against real scenarios using the Jira REST API and JavaScript where needed. Can start today and have a clean, working set ready in 2 days. The bid reflects what's in the description. Final numbers come after we walk through the full scope together. hi! there. jira automation setups often become unreliable when workflow transitions create loops or when notifications and qa triggers fire inconsistently across projects. another common issue is automation logic becoming impossible to maintain later without proper structure and documentation. i can build clean scalable jira cloud automations with stable transitions, smart alerts, and reliable test script handling while keeping every rule organized, reusable, and easy to export to future projects.
