My production-grade web application currently mixes ArcGIS JavaScript API 3.x and 4.x code. I want the entire front-end moved to the latest 5.x release so I can take advantage of its modern framework, performance improvements and long-term support. Core workflows to preserve • Geospatial data management remains the heart of the app. • Users must still add, remove and reorder layers, change symbology and toggle visibility exactly as they do today. • Interactive maps with pop-ups have to remain responsive and accurate. • Custom widgets and tools (including a bespoke polygon editor that lets users query, create and edit vector features) must be rebuilt or refactored so behaviour is unchanged. Upgrade goals Beyond parity, I’d like the user interface refreshed to feel lighter and more intuitive. If the new version offers UI components that can replace my hand-rolled elements, please recommend them. Deliverables 1. Fully upgraded codebase running on ArcGIS JavaScript API 5.x. 2. Migration notes outlining replaced/deprecated classes, new patterns adopted and any remaining 3.x/4.x calls (should be none). 3. Refactored custom widgets, pop-ups and polygon editing tool, tested in the latest versions of Chrome, Edge and Firefox. 4. A brief hand-off session (recorded or live) walking through the new build process and deployment steps. Acceptance criteria • All existing map interactions and editing functions work as in production. • No console errors or deprecation warnings related to 3.x/4.x code. • UI improvements implemented without breaking familiar workflows. I will provide the current code repository, sample data and a staging server for testing. If you have recent experience migrating large ArcGIS apps and can demonstrate it, I’m ready to get started. The ArcGIS Rest API in not reachable to the internet. Please use your own ArcGIS Rest API for testing. Alternatively we can use VPN but need to request time by time for us to standby and provide the token. App version: - PHP 8.5 - Laravel 13 - Vue.js - SQL Server Total page affected is around 80 pages (blade file). Project timeline: 10% by 20th September 2026 50% by 15th October 2026 100% by 5th November 2026

Hi, I can handle the migration of your mixed ArcGIS JS 3.x/4.x application to the latest 5.x architecture while preserving the existing geospatial workflows across all ~80 affected pages. I have 5+ years of professional experience in GIS and WebGIS development, working with ArcGIS API for JavaScript, ArcGIS REST services, ArcGIS Pro, Vue.js, Laravel/PHP, JavaScript, SQL, and interactive mapping applications. I’ve developed and maintained applications involving layer management, symbology, pop-ups, feature querying/editing, custom GIS tools, and spatial data workflows. For the inaccessible ArcGIS REST API, I can develop and test initially against an independent ArcGIS REST environment and then perform integration testing against your staging/VPN environment when access is available. This should reduce dependency on your team being available throughout development. I’m also comfortable working within your PHP 8.5 + Laravel 13 + Vue.js + SQL Server stack, so the ArcGIS migration can be handled without disrupting the existing application architecture. I can share relevant ArcGIS/WebGIS projects and discuss the current codebase and migration approach on a call. Regards Tahira S.

✔️ Hello, We’d first audit the mixed ArcGIS 3.x/4.x code across ~80 Blade/Vue pages, focusing on layer ordering/symbology, pop-ups, and the bespoke polygon editor. Since your ArcGIS REST API is private, we’d test on our own service first, then confirm via VPN/token windows. - Keep Laravel 13 + SQL Server backend, auth, and roles intact. - Refactor Vue/Blade map pages to ArcGIS JS 5.x patterns. - Rebuild layer manager, pop-ups, symbology, and polygon editor. - Test Chrome, Edge, Firefox, then deploy to staging with notes. We are Webcapitan, a Ukraine web studio with 8+ years, Preferred Freelancer status, and 5★ across 580+ reviews. Does the polygon editor use hosted feature layers, custom REST endpoints, or both? Should we keep the current UI layout, or use ArcGIS/Calcite components where behavior stays familiar? Please let me know your thoughts. Looking forward, Roman

★★★ ARCGIS JAVASCRIPT SPECIALIST ★★★ Hi, To migrate a mixed ArcGIS JavaScript API 3.x/4.x front end to 5.x without changing production workflows, I can first map the existing API usage and deprecated patterns, then refactor the affected Vue/Blade components and custom tools around the 5.x equivalents. I will pay particular attention to the layer management, symbology, visibility controls, pop-ups, and bespoke polygon editor so their existing editing and feature-query behaviour remains intact across the approximately 80 affected pages. Where 5.x provides suitable UI components for your hand-built elements, I can recommend replacements that improve the interface without changing familiar workflows. I will validate the migrated application in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, checking for remaining 3.x/4.x calls, console errors, and deprecation warnings. For REST API testing, I can use my own test API or coordinate VPN/token access when your staging environment is required. I can structure the migration toward the requested 50% milestone by October 15 and full completion by November 5, with migration notes and deployment hand-off included. To get started, I will need the current repository and sample data. Thanks!

Hi, Upgrading a large-scale ArcGIS JavaScript API app from mixed 3.x/4.x code to 5.x while preserving complex geospatial workflows is a challenging but manageable task. The main engineering risk lies in ensuring seamless behavior of custom widgets like the polygon editor and maintaining responsive map interactions without regression. I usually structure such upgrades by first isolating legacy API usage and mapping deprecated classes to their 5.x equivalents, then refactoring custom components incrementally to validate behavior at each step. My experience with deep codebase reviews and bespoke frontend feature development will help maintain functional parity and improve UI intuitiveness. I recommend separating the UI refresh from core logic migration to avoid breaking existing workflows while introducing modern components where feasible. Handling VPN-based API access securely and efficiently during testing will be critical to smooth development. Systems like this benefit from thorough migration notes and clear deployment documentation to hand off to internal teams confidently. Thanks, Hercules

I can take this from scope to a tested handoff without bloating the first milestone. You're building a Upgrade ArcGIS JavaScript API Web App where the hardest part is making external integrations and the API layer stay reliable as scope grows. My approach would be to first define the integration contracts and backend boundaries, then deliver the first milestone around the riskiest data flow instead of only UI screens. Quick question: Which external integrations are absolutely required for MVP, and which can be staged after launch? Also, which objects and fields are the source of truth, and does synchronization need to be one-way or bidirectional? Best, Dr. Syafiq

Mixed 3.x and 4.x ArcGIS JS across 80 Blade views usually means the same map and layer setup got copied into every page with small tweaks, which is why a view by view migration turns into a slog. I'd pull the map logic out first, view init, layer loading, the custom polygon editor, symbology controls, pop-up templates, into one shared module built against 5.x. The 80 views then become thin integrations against that module rather than separate migrations, which keeps 55 days realistic. I'd build and test the editor and symbology work against Esri's public sample services first, so progress isn't blocked on VPN access, and only bring your real endpoint in for a final verification pass on staging once behaviour matches what's live now. I'd trim the UI chrome as I go and write migration notes alongside the work, so the hand-off covers documented decisions. M1: shared module scaffold and audit of the 80 views, $320, 10 days. M2: polygon editor and layer/symbology controls rebuilt in the module, $400, 15 days. M3: pop-ups and view integration across the ~80 pages, tested against public services, $400, 20 days. M4: staging verification, UI cleanup, notes, hand-off, $155, 10 days. Before I lock this in: can VPN access be arranged for a short look at the real endpoint even if most testing stays public, does the editor need freehand drawing and snapping or strictly vertex based, is symbology from a config table or set per layer in code, and is there a minimum browser target for the UI?

Hi, I can migrate your production Laravel 13 + Vue.js application from the mixed ArcGIS JS 3.x/4.x implementation to the latest 5.x architecture while preserving existing geospatial workflows, custom widgets, pop-ups, layer management, symbology, and polygon editing. I suggest starting with a dependency/code audit and migration plan, then migrating common map components before refactoring the 80 affected Blade pages. For your private ArcGIS REST API, I can use my own test ArcGIS REST environment during development and switch to your staging/VPN environment for final integration testing. I’ll provide migration documentation, cross-browser testing, performance/UI improvements, and deployment handoff. Questions: 1. Can you provide the repository for an initial compatibility audit? 2. Which ArcGIS JS 5.x modules/components are currently targeted? 3. Do you have automated tests for the existing map/editing workflows? Let's connect

I can take ownership of the ArcGIS migration across the Laravel 13 / Vue.js / PHP 8.5 application, refactoring the existing 3.x/4.x implementation, custom widgets, pop-ups, layer controls, symbology workflows, and polygon editing tools while preserving current behaviour across the ~80 affected Blade pages. I’m also comfortable working around the restricted ArcGIS REST environment using a test service or coordinated VPN access, and I’ll document all replaced APIs and new patterns clearly. I can work toward your milestone dates, including browser testing, UI refinements, migration notes, and final handover. I can share relevant mapping, Vue/Laravel, and complex frontend migration examples privately.

Hello. The hardest part of upgrading your ArcGIS JavaScript API app is fully migrating from mixed 3.x/4.x code to 5.x while preserving all custom widget behaviors and map interactions without regressions. Your stack with Vue.js and Laravel fits well for a modular upgrade, avoiding a full rewrite. My approach: 1. Audit current 3.x/4.x codebase and identify deprecated APIs impacting your polygon editor and custom widgets. First deliverable: a detailed migration plan with replaced classes and new 5.x patterns. 2. Refactor and rebuild custom widgets and polygon editing tools using ArcGIS API 5.x, ensuring exact behavior parity and responsiveness across Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. 3. Refresh UI with lightweight Vue.js components where 5.x offers improvements, maintaining familiar workflows. 4. Deliver migration notes and conduct a hand-off session covering build and deployment. I recently completed a similar ArcGIS API migration for a geospatial app with complex custom editing tools, preserving all user workflows and eliminating console warnings. This experience directly addresses your risk of breaking interactive maps and custom tools. Boundary: This bid covers migration, UI refresh, and testing on provided staging. Additional feature requests or backend changes would be extra. Please share repo access and preferred communication for the migration plan draft. Best,

==== Hi - Truong here ==== "ARCGIS JAVASCRIPT API 5.X MIGRATION" — you need 80 Blade pages moved off mixed 3.x/4.x code without breaking production map editing. I’d migrate the ArcGIS layer first, then refactor the custom widgets and polygon editor around 5.x patterns, using a separate REST API for repeatable testing. I’ll also track every replaced/deprecated class so no old 3.x/4.x calls remain. The key risk is the offline ArcGIS REST API and token-dependent testing, so I’d keep that dependency isolated and test the map workflows against a controlled API before VPN validation. Which ArcGIS 3.x/4.x modules are currently used most heavily in the custom polygon editor? Looking forward to work with you.
