Hi, I’d approach this as a vertical slice first, with networking and tension systems treated as core design, not something added after the horror mood is built. For this type of PC multiplayer game, I’d lean toward Unreal Engine because replication, authoritative movement, dedicated-server workflows, and first-person multiplayer tooling are stronger out of the box. The first build would focus on a stable lobby, role assignment for one hidden predator and several survivors, replicated movement/actions, basic objectives, escape flow, and one compact atmospheric map. The social-deduction part needs restraint. I’d build fear/suspicion feedback through sound, lighting, UI hints, and environmental events that create pressure without immediately exposing the killer. Code-wise, I’d keep roles, abilities, objectives, and map logic modular so new content can be added later. Question 1: Should voice/text communication be built into the game, or will players use Discord at first? Question 2: Do you want the killer identity hidden from everyone including the killer until match start, or assigned before the round begins? Regards, Houssame
