*THIS IS AN ENTRY LEVEL POSITION*
I hope for a long term partnership with this. I'm starting a new YouTube channel that primarily focuses on storytelling, but will extend to reviews, explainers, etc. I'm not a digital artist by any stretch of the word and even if I was, I can't draw people.
I need an animator to help make these videos engaging to viewers. I've been publishing online since 2009 and people LOVE my stories, so I'm very confident that the videos will be eligible for monetization within a month or so. Additionally I do have a preexisting YouTube channel with thousands of subscribers and millions of page views that I can advertise the new channel on.
The type of animation is very simple - cartoon. Nothing fancy and sometimes just stick figures. None of this is highly detailed, but I do need the characters' faces to be expressive. I'll provide a storyboard with pencil and paper and your job will be to correct them (heads are circles, not eggs or ovals, proportions are better, and lines are straight and clean), digitalize them, and fill in the gaps with animation.
For references to the type of videos and facial expressions, see Jaiden Animations' "The best pokemon game you never played" on YouTube. You don't need to know about Pokemon or video games, but that video is a great example of the animation I'm looking for.
You'll be credited in every video you contribute to and I'll provide any links to your business, social media, gallery, etc. in those videos.
You don't need to worry about any video editing, voiceovers, or even color. You are free to add your own style to these animations if you like, but I'd prefer to keep it simple. The characters aren't meant to look very realistic.
I am not looking for someone with a fancy piece of paper that shows me they paid an outrageous amount of money for school. Frankly I don't even care if you've graduated high school. I don't care which animation programs you use. The only things I'm looking for are ability and willingness to do the work right.
Again, I am hoping for a long term partnership. You get to choose how you're paid - fixed or hourly? I'll raise the price on an hourly income because it'll be entirely dependent on the length of the videos (which would ideally be 5-10 minutes). A fixed price won't be raised but you'll get paid per video, which means you may end up working less for more money (and vice versa depending on the video).
You have freedom with this job. I encourage style and hey if you have a story to tell and want a video on that story, then as long as it isn't dirty (this will remain a clean channel), I'll be happy to get that in there! You'll also have automatic permission to use any video you contribute to for portfolio use and I'll be happy to be a reference if needed.
Remember this is simple 2-D animation, not Pixar. I'm not expecting much.
