Handling interruptions for live audio streams using default html player

I need help to solve the following issue:
I have a PWA app running mainly on smartphones. It plays live audio streams and offline audio streams using the default html audio player. The offline audio streams are handled ok by the html player.
The problem I have is that when the live audio streams are interrupted (by a phone call, internet connection drop, or internet connection switch, live stream goes offline, etc) should resume automatically when the interruption cause disappear. The actual behavior is to try resuming from the point of interruption, but this is not possible in most cases because the stream is live broadcasting. I want to implement a different behavior: when interrupted reset the live audio stream and starts automatically.
The solution should work flawlessly on any Android and iOS smartphones.
