Hi, the age of the script decides this job, not the install. Google Play now requires a recent Android target SDK, and Apple rejects builds made with older Xcode SDKs. So if the code is a couple of years old, it won't compile as is. Gradle, pods and Firebase all need bringing forward, and some deprecated calls get replaced. That's code work even though you're not changing any features. One more thing. Play Store doesn't accept APK for new apps anymore, only AAB. I'll still hand you an APK for device testing, but the upload file is different. Signing goes on your own Apple and Google accounts, with the keystore in your name. That way you can push updates later without needing me. I've built and published React Native and Expo apps to both stores, so the build and signing side is routine for me.
