The current developer can no longer complete the project, so we are looking for someone to complete the app including the transfer of data to and from our MySQL database.
We need IPhone, Android and Windows apps so most smart phones are covered.
The data must be sent to our MySQL server in an Amazon VPC. Amazon have new services to run code snippits so we would like that to be used, instead of having a server running code.
If the phone loses data connection temporarily, the app must still keep functioning and store the results locally until the data can be transferred.
Although we won't be using the information initially, the GPS location of the phone should be included in the data sent (there are cross county map applications available so we will eventually show where the horse is on the track, using this GPS information).
There is a critical timing component where when the Start or Finish button is pressed, the time needs to be captured and sent (for timing the start and finish of the cross country track). The time must be accurate so the app needs to use a time from a time standard site (in case the phones time is wrong). The cross country time on track affects the score so the start and finish times must be synchronised.
The amount of data is minimal, usually only a few fields from most forms. A cross country course will have 15 to 30 people scoring and horses would normally start between one minute and two minutes apart. So there would be typically 3 to 5 horses on the course at the same time.
The project includes any coding on the Amazon services to receive and send the data to and from the MYSQL server.

The app is almost complete and developed in PhoneGap. The source code and the app itself is included.
There are a few cosmetic changes needed in the app and the navigation between screens seems to be functioning OK. There has been no significant testing of data flows between the app and MYSQL server although it has been communicating with code on the developers server (code is included) and there has been no builds other than for Android at the moment (we need it working of IPphones and windows devices as well).
So the developer believes the work is around 90% complete.
