App for short movement tracking

I need an Android App that tracks my movements inside a room. So we are talking about really shorts movements in the range of few meters. So I don't think that GPS is the right technology to use. Maybe it needs something more accurate like accelerometer and gyroscope. It has to consider that the phone could be in the pocket or on somehow. Movements' path has to be shown on the screen. The user can upload a map of the place where he is moving (it is ok a .jpeg or other image format). When the user uploads the map, the app has to understand the starting point and the direction. To solve at the best this issue, suggestions are welcome. What I thought is that the app could ask to walk on a dummy route so to get good starting data, but other ideas are welcome.
