I’m producing a short AI-assisted animation that pays homage to Studio Ghibli while adding a fresh, modern twist. The piece hinges equally on three pillars—lively character animation, richly painted background scenery, and tasteful special effects—so each scene needs to feel hand-crafted yet still flow from one to the next like a traditional film. For the characters, I want a mixed style: keep the expressive eyes, fluid motion, and warmth of classic Ghibli, but don’t hesitate to introduce sharper modern lines or stylised proportions where the story calls for it.
