Convert PDF for Illustrator Editing

I have a PDF that must be rebuilt in Adobe Illustrator so I can freely edit every piece of text and every image. The finished file should mirror the current layout and sizing but give me true, live text (not outlines) and properly placed, high-resolution images on unlocked layers. My main goal is straightforward: open the .ai file, correct copy, swap pictures, and export new versions without wrestling with flattened artwork. Deliverables • Fully editable .ai file matching the original PDF dimensions and colour settings • All linked images packaged in their native resolution • Fonts either embedded or collected, with any decorative type outlined only if embedding is impossible I will supply the source PDF and any missing fonts.
