worth knowing what actually makes this job hard, because it is not the volume. a pdf has no idea it contains a table. a table in a pdf is just text placed at coordinates, and every extraction tool infers the columns from spacing. that inference breaks in the same three places every time: merged cells, wrapped text inside a cell, and rows that run over two lines. the failure is quiet - the workbook looks complete and a wrapped cell has silently become an extra row, shifting everything below it. so the real work is not the extraction, it is the pass that checks row counts and totals against the original. the second thing needs a decision from you before i start. narrative paragraphs and bullet lists do not have a natural shape in a spreadsheet. one sentence per row makes it sortable and filterable but takes the paragraph apart. one paragraph per cell keeps the meaning and is awkward to filter. either is fine, they suit different uses, but choosing after the conversion means doing it twice. i would also keep a column recording which pdf and which page each row came from. it costs nothing while converting and it is the only way to check anything later. how many pdfs, and are they text pdfs or scans?
