Field Engineer for IT Support (France/Italy)

Full-Time Field Engineer – End User Computing (EUC) & IT Site Services (France/Italy) Job Type: Full-Time Locations: France & Italy (on-site) Compensation: $5,000 – $5,500 USD / month Service Window: 24×5 (Monday–Friday) + P1 On-Call About the Role We're hiring a Field Engineer to deliver Level 2 IT support across our client's global offices in France and Italy. This is a hands-on role covering end-user device support, on-site "Smart Hands" work, and general IT site services — ideal for someone who enjoys varied technical work and direct interaction with end users. What You'll Do Provide on-site and remote deskside support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals Perform hardware diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and installations Troubleshoot OS, application, and patching issues across Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms Act as on-site "Hands and Feet" support for remote IT teams — hardware replacements, cable management, device installs Support server/data room activities: racking & stacking, cable patching, hardware inspections Handle conference room A/V and Teams Rooms support Support mobile phones, VIP users, and GMP/non-GMP lab systems (hardware, software, user accounts) Manage user onboarding/offboarding (JML) and training Maintain accurate IT asset and inventory records Track and report against SLAs Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support teams as needed What We're Looking For Proven experience in on-site end-user device and IT hardware support Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and mobile operating systems Hands-on hardware diagnostics, repair, and installation experience Basic networking knowledge (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi troubleshooting) Familiarity with ITSM/ticketing tools (e.g., Freshworks) Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to travel to various sites and lift/move IT equipment as needed Availability for on-call support and flexible hours Nice to Have CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or equivalent certification Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager Knowledge of server hardware and basic data center operations Experience with imaging/deployment tools (SCCM, MDT) Experience working across multi-site environments Tools Used Freshworks, Remote Support Tools, CMDB/Asset Repository, Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager
