I’m putting together a darkly comic script and need a fully-fleshed character profile for a villa caretaker who is, in equal parts, hilarious and unsettling. Here’s what I already know about him, and what I need you to expand into a vivid, production-ready description: He’s Gen Z but loathes everything Gen Z stands for. Despite being only the caretaker, he acts as if he owns the villa, its guests, and even their emotional well-being. His default mood isn’t anger; it’s disappointment—served cold. Comedy style is pure deadpan: minimal facial movement, slow eye contact, broken English, and the sort of calm delivery that makes outrageous lines feel strangely believable. Think “tired of humanity” in every syllable. Physically, he’s dark-skinned and slim or dark skinned and plump. Clothes never match the century: an old-fashioned, worn-out T-shirt/ shirt that implies he’s been on duty since before the owners were born. The contrast between his dated attire and youthful age should be obvious at first glance. Personality rests on a single, consistent note—sarcasm. Every observation drips with it, whether he’s explaining the location of the towels or critiquing modern society. Deliverable • One detailed character sheet (1-2 pages) covering appearance, backstory, speech patterns, signature gestures, motivations, and several deadpan sample lines. • Tone must read effortlessly cinematic, so the description can slide straight into a screenplay or casting brief with zero edits. If this sounds like your brand of humor, let’s get this caretaker ready for his close-up.

Hi, I genuinely love this concept. A Gen Z caretaker who hates Gen Z and delivers emotional disappointment like it’s part of the room service menu? That’s such a strong comedic engine. What really works for me is the contradiction — young age, ancient energy. The idea that he’s technically just the caretaker but behaves like he owns the villa… and possibly the guests’ life choices. If I take this on, I’d focus on: Giving him a subtle backstory that explains why he carries that quiet superiority Crafting deadpan dialogue that feels effortless, not try-hard Building specific physical habits (eye contact, posture, stillness) actors can immediately use Making the tone cinematic enough to drop straight into a screenplay or casting brief I won’t overcomplicate him — his power comes from restraint. The humor should feel accidental, not performed. If you’d like, I can also include a short intro scene to show how he enters a frame. Would love to bring him to life. Best, Purushotham KJ

Hi, I’d love to work on this character. The idea of a Gen Z caretaker who hates Gen Z and expresses it not with anger, is genuinely funny. The fact that he behaves like he emotionally owns the villa (and the guests) gives him a strong, playable spine. What interests me most is the restraint. Deadpan only works when it’s controlled minimal movement, steady eye contact, and a calm tone that makes outrageous lines sound completely reasonable. I understand that this character shouldn’t feel “written for laughs.” The humor should come from how seriously he takes himself. If selected, I’ll deliver: A detailed 1–2 page character sheet ready for casting or screenplay use Clear physical description that highlights the contrast between his age and outdated appearance A grounded backstory that explains his superiority and emotional ownership Specific speech patterns and delivery notes (pauses, rhythm, eye contact) Signature gestures that actors can immediately use Deadpan sample lines that feel natural, not forced My focus will be making him believable first — funny second. That’s what makes this type of character land. Thank you for considering my proposal. I’d be glad to develop him further with you. Best, Harshitha

I would love to participate on this project! Characters are the soul of any story, and when I write them for myself, I spend the most time on their character sheets, every detail counts! I can confidently deliver what you're asking for, and make this character feel real and alive. It sounds like a dream!
