Recently completed a 1031 property exchange involving one (1) relinquished property and four (4) replacement properties. Plus I included a small amount of cash boot with proceeds from relinquished property to purchase all four of the replacement properties. All properties, both relinquished and replacement, are residential rental properties. All are SFR's save for one of the replacement properties which is a 5-unit apartment complex. Need a qualified accountant to calculate the new tax basis for each of the new replacement properties that takes into account both the 1031 exchange as well as repairs/rehab/upgrades made to properties to make ready for tenants. Only U.S. based contractors need apply. Experience with 1031 exchanges a must.
