In Your Own Words:
I write for a magazine with an international subscription base of around 100,000 people. We're interested in the lives of people from India and Pakistan who make a living by producing academic writing for foreign students.
It occurs to me that while you're busy writing words for people you've never met about all kinds of subjects, you might have some interesting things to say about your own experience. This is an opportunity to talk about your life and work experience with a large audience. If you have been making a living (or at least a partial living) by writing university papers for foreigners over the internet, I'd like to hear your story and conduct a skype interview with you.
Some key questions we think our readers will be interested in:
-- Who are you? Who do you live with? How much money do you make? How much does your salary depend on internet work? Do you do other work as well?
-- How educated are you and how does it feel to use your education to make money this way?
-- regarding the work: what kinds of things do you write? are the work arrangments fair? Do you feel exploited?
-- what do you think about the students whose essays you write?
-- what kinds of things have you learned? is it valuable?
-- how has globalization affected your life?
If I can find an interesting candidate, I'll be able to pay $50 for a written response describing your situation (750 - 1500 words) and a skype interview. Photographs of you and your surroundings may also prove useful to us.
Send me a personal message and tell me a little bit about your situation. Pending approval from my editor, I'll choose one freelancer whose story will be told in the next issue of our magazine.
