I have an existing 3D-printable part set in STL format that needs a few quick tweaks. This is for a ball joint that I want to modify for use in a corner. The current set has 3 pieces: 1) The ball 2) The threaded wall mount 3) The tightening nut I would like the below 4 edits made, but importantly NOTHING ELSE should change with the parts. 1) For the threaded wall mount, I would like the back to have a 90 degree wedge shape so it fits into the corner of a wall (reference: [login to view URL]) 2) Also for the threaded wall mount, I would like the inside hole to have a countersink for #8 drywall screw (Ø4.2 mm screw, Ø8.5 mm countersink major diameter), so the screw head sits flush with the surface. Reference: [login to view URL] 3) For the treading nut, I would like to add a knurled texture. Reference: [login to view URL] 4) I would like the ball arranged inside the threading nut, so it prints nested inside the nut (reference: [login to view URL]), AND increase stem base diameter, with a target clearance of 0.15 mm radial between stem base and surrounding captive nut/cavity. Minimum acceptable clearance: 0.10 mm radial, provided the joint remains printable in place and can be broken free after printing. Reference: [login to view URL]

Hi! I'm Abu, Top 30 SolidWorks freelancer with 12+ years in mechanical and product design, including precise STL modifications, snap-fit and captive nut geometry, countersink detailing, and print-in-place tolerance engineering for FDM assemblies. I understand you need exactly 4 modifications to your existing 3-piece ball joint STL set — nothing else changed: Threaded wall mount: add 90° wedge back for corner wall fitment. Threaded wall mount: add Ø4.2mm / Ø8.5mm countersink for #8 drywall screw flush fit. Tightening nut: add knurled texture to outer surface. Ball nested inside threading nut for print-in-place: increase stem base diameter with 0.15mm radial target clearance (0.10mm minimum) between stem and captive nut cavity. I handle STL modifications with surgical precision — only the specified geometry changes, everything else stays exactly as-is. I work in SolidWorks (importing STL as solid body) to apply clean parametric edits, then export back to print-ready STL. I will deliver all three modified STL files with a screenshot of each change for your visual confirmation before final handover. Turnaround is same day. Ready to start immediately — please confirm your FDM printer nozzle diameter and layer height so I can fine-tune the print-in-place clearances for your specific setup.

I can see exactly what each edit requires: → Wall mount wedge: 90° corner cut into the back of the threaded wall mount so it nests flush into a wall corner — clean planar cut, no chamfer that compromises the threaded body → Countersink: Ø8.5mm major diameter at standard 82° angle for #8 flathead drywall screw (Ø4.2mm clearance hole), depth set so screw head sits flush with the inner pocket surface → Knurled grip: Diamond or straight knurl pattern wrapped around the tightening nut's outer surface — depth tuned for FDM print legibility (typically 0.4–0.6mm) so it actually feels grippy, not just visually textured → Nested ball-in-nut with stem clearance: Reposition ball inside the nut cavity for print-in-place assembly, stem base diameter increased with 0.15mm radial target clearance to the captive cavity — printable in place, breakable free after print, joint moves smoothly Everything else on all three parts stays untouched. Same thread pitch, same ball geometry, same nut profile, same overall dimensions. You'll get updated STL files for all three parts plus the native CAD file in case you need future tweaks. What slicer and printer are you using? That affects how I tune the 0.15mm clearance — some printers achieve it at default settings, others need the gap opened to 0.20mm to print free.

Hi, I see you are looking for 4 specific edits to an existing 3D-printable STL ball joint set — corner wedge mount, #8 screw countersink, knurled nut texture, and nested ball print arrangement with 0.10–0.15 mm radial clearance — nothing else changed. We have 8+ years of experience in similar projects. To achieve better results, I would suggest adding a 0.2 mm vertical gap between the nested ball and the nut cavity floor, not just radial clearance — this prevents fusion from elephant's foot on the first layer, so the joint breaks free cleanly without prying damage. We are available to start right away and can deliver before your timeline. Let's discuss the details. I specialize in parametric 3D modeling and STL modifications with precision tolerances. For your ball joint corner mount, I will: add a clean 90° wedge to the wall mount back for corner fitting, machine a proper #8 drywall countersink (Ø4.2mm bore, Ø8.5mm head recess) for flush mounting, apply a knurled texture to the tightening nut for grip, and nest the ball inside the nut as a captive print-in-place assembly with 0.15mm radial clearance at the stem base. All other geometry stays untouched. Deliverable: print-ready STL files, tested in slicer. Fast turnaround. $45 fixed.
