I need help with improvements on my current fusion 360 autocad that Ive made for my college project.I want it to become 3D print [login to view URL] is a very simple model but we need an expert to tell us how our final mechanism should look like and make the correct size and tolerances so that all we need to do is 3D print it and assemble it with a servo motor, springs etc. Besides giving us the final version please also guide me what I would need to do further so that the mechanism works perfectly(we will only be given marks if it is fully functional). Let me walk you through the exact working principle of our mechanism. The system starts with a continuous rotary input, driven by a standard DC motor attached to our custom snail cam. As this cam rotates, its spiral edge gradually increases in radius. This edge acts as a wedge against the follower peg on our striker block. As the cam turns, it forces the striker block backward perfectly straight along our guide rails, compressing a coiled spring against the back wall. This is our 'cocking phase,' where the motor does mechanical work to store potential energy in the spring. The magic happens when the cam rotates past its maximum radius and hits the flat drop-off. At this precise release point, the higher-pair constraint suddenly vanishes. The stored potential energy instantly converts into kinetic energy as the spring violently expands, snapping the striker forward to launch the dart. I am attaching the photos of my autocad along with its f3d file. Please let me know if you will be able to do it at the earliest as well as your price for it.

Saima Qaisar — 5+ years of experience in 3D modeling, technical design refinement, and fabrication-ready development. Sir, I understand the requirement clearly. You already have the concept and working mechanism, and the key task now is refining the current model in Autodesk Fusion 360 so it becomes practical for 3D printing, correct in tolerances, and reliable during assembly and functional testing. I can review the current design, adjust dimensions, clearances, motion fit, and assembly tolerances for the cam, striker block, guide rails, spring interaction, and servo integration so the final mechanism is ready for printing and practical use. Along with the final refined model, I can also explain what needs attention during printing, assembly, and testing so the mechanism performs properly and remains fully functional for your college evaluation. Thank you, Sir.

Hello, I’m interested in helping with your project. I have experience in Fusion 360, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling for functional mechanical designs and 3D printing preparation. Your snail cam and spring-loaded striker mechanism is already well explained, and I understand the full working principle from the cocking phase to the release phase. I can help you: * Improve the current CAD model * Refine dimensions, tolerances, and clearances for reliable 3D printing * Optimize the cam profile, guide rails, striker movement, and spring compression * Reduce friction and prevent jamming or misalignment * Prepare the final printable assembly * Guide you on servo/DC motor integration, spring setup, materials, print orientation, and assembly process I will also explain what needs to be tested and adjusted so the mechanism works smoothly and becomes fully functional for your college evaluation. Before finalizing, I would review your F3D file and images to check: * motion stability, * release timing, * motor torque requirements, * spring travel, * and structural strength. I’m available to start immediately after reviewing the files. Looking forward to working with you.

Hi there, I can absolutely help you optimize your snail-cam striker mechanism to make it 100% functional, structurally sound, and ready for 3D printing. I understand the exact physics of your design: the DC motor rotates the custom snail cam to gradually retract the striker block, compress the spring, and abruptly release it at the drop-off point for a high-velocity launch. To ensure you get full marks for a working prototype, I will refine your .f3d file with correct mechanical tolerances so the parts print smoothly and assemble perfectly with your servo/DC motor and springs. Best regards, Aarti S. Hainale
