I have a finished 3D mesh that now needs to become real. Your job is to bring it into Fusion 360, prep it for cutting on a 3-axis router, and hand back clean, ready-to-run G-code. Material & machine context The stock we work with is EVA foam, occasionally laminated to a thin composite backer. Everything will be cut on a standard 3-axis setup, so please keep the toolpaths strictly 2D/3-axis friendly—no simultaneous 5-axis moves. What I will supply • The mesh file (OBJ/STL). • Overall dimensions and any hold-down constraints. • Reference photos for colour-accurate rendering. What I need back • A fully parametric Fusion 360 file with bodies, setups, tools, and operations organised in the browser. • Verified G-code that respects my machine’s post (I’ll provide the post file). • One or two high-quality renders so I can show the client a visual before we cut. Key points • Optimise roughing and finishing passes for foam: shallow step-downs, high feed, minimal dwell. • Dog-bone or ramped entry where suitable to avoid foam tear-out. • Name and comment operations clearly; I want to see your logic at a glance. • No proprietary plugins—everything must be reproducible in vanilla Fusion 360. Once I confirm the toolpaths simulate without collision, I release final approval. If that sounds straightforward, let’s get the spindle turning.

Hello, I reviewed the Fusion 360 CAM requirements, and the key challenge is converting the supplied mesh into a practical 3-axis machining workflow for EVA foam while keeping the toolpaths clean, efficient, and compatible with your specific machine post. I would import and assess the OBJ/STL, establish the required setups and stock, organise the tools and operations clearly, and optimise roughing and finishing passes for foam with appropriate feeds, step-downs, entries, and clearance. I would then simulate the complete toolpath, check for collisions and machining issues, and provide the organised Fusion 360 source file, verified G-code, and presentation renders. I have experience with Fusion 360 CAM, 3-axis CNC workflows, mesh-to-manufacturing preparation, and fabrication-focused modelling and can share relevant examples once we connect in chat. Also a quick question, which CNC controller/machine are you using, and can you provide the exact post-processor file along with the mesh and stock dimensions? Best Regards, Muskan

Worth checking. This is the kind of project where the CAM setup matters just as much as the model. I'll bring your OBJ or STL into Fusion 360, convert it into a clean, organized manufacturing setup, and build foam-optimized toolpaths that are ready for your 3-axis router. I'll keep everything in vanilla Fusion 360, with clearly named setups, tools, and operations, optimize roughing and finishing for EVA foam with ramped entries and minimal tear-out, simulate every operation, and generate G-code using your supplied post processor. You'll also receive high-quality renders so you can share the finished result with your client before cutting. Please check my portfolio for Fusion 360, CNC, and manufacturing workflow projects. Once you send the mesh, dimensions, and post file, I can start immediately and deliver a fully reproducible Fusion project with verified toolpaths.
