Hello, I’m interested in assisting with the surface correction and deformation compensation of your casting model. I have experience working with mechanical CAD models, manufacturable surface geometry, and dimensional compensation for casting and production processes. Your requirement to reverse-engineer approximately 0.5 mm of shrinkage deformation into the CAD geometry is something I can support with careful surface-controlled modeling while maintaining smooth continuity and manufacturable surfaces. My approach would include: Analysis of the affected region using your reference photos and CAD data Controlled surface offset/deformation compensation Preservation of smooth curvature transitions (no peaks, dips, or surface artifacts) Validation of continuity and blend quality across adjacent surfaces Export of updated production-ready CAD files I can work in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Blender depending on the source geometry and preferred workflow. Deliverables: Corrected 3D model STEP/native CAD files Surface quality verification screenshots if required Estimated timeline: 1–3 days depending on surface complexity and revision cycles. A few questions before starting: Which CAD format is currently available? Do you have scan data or measured deviation maps from the cast part? Is the deformation localized or gradually distributed across the surface? What tolerance must the corrected feature achieve after casting? Best regards,

Hi there, I see you need a 3D artist to reverse engineer a 0.5mm shrinkage deformation into your CAD model so the cast feature ends up in the correct location, with smooth surfaces and no dips or peaks. I recently helped a foundry client modify a complex housing model by applying a calculated 0.3mm counter deformation to a critical flange area, using surface manipulation in SolidWorks to maintain class A smoothness while compensating for shrinkage. The cast parts came out within tolerance on the first production run. I would love to do the same for your part. I can work from your existing CAD file and the attached photos showing the deformed area, modify the surfaces precisely by 0.5mm in the opposite direction, and ensure no secondary dips or peaks are introduced. I use SolidWorks and can deliver STEP, IGES, or native SLDPRT formats. Best regards, Mobasher Reza
