What I require is straightforward: basic overall dimensions, material call-outs, and any critical tolerances that will let my fabricator move directly from drawing to cutting without guesswork. While I don’t need step-by-step build notes or exploded assemblies, the drawings should still read cleanly at scale and include front, plan, side, and sectional views. I work primarily with PDF sets, but having the native CAD file (AutoCAD or compatible DWG/DXF) is useful for minor edits down the road. Title blocks, revision bubbles, and a concise material legend will round things out.
