I would like to know the below. - Which exact materials/finish do you and your molder prefer: clear PC vs PMMA for the bulb, ABS vs PP for the base, and do you want true frosting or a mold texture? - What are the pen barrel tolerances and target pull‑off force, and can we use ultrasonic staking, or must the bulb–base joint be pure snap‑fit with no side actions? I think we should. - Use a compliant tri‑rib insert with a lead‑in chamfer to hit the 7.7–7.8 mm fit and keep pull‑off consistent across pen tolerance. - Design a hidden snap ring plus small energy directors so we get a strong mechanical joint that can also be ultrasonically staked for durability. Lets follow a plan like this. 1) I model two concepts: realistic A19‑style bulb (uniform ~1.8 mm wall) and threaded‑look base that doubles as the insert. 2) I run a tolerance study around the 8.0 mm barrel and simulate pull‑off to tune rib geometry and seating depth (7–8 mm). 3) I finalize the locking method (snap lugs + optional staking), add proper draft, gates, parting lines, and ejection points. 4) I deliver STEP/STP, SolidWorks files, and clear 2D drawings with specs, plus DFM notes for your overseas tooler; I support first shots and iterate fast if needed
