Alpha-Layer 360° Staging Artist

ABOUT THE PROJECT We are building an interactive virtual staging tool for an assisted living facility client. The tool lets prospective residents swap finish options — cabinets, flooring, tile, paint, countertops — inside a live 360° panorama viewer using a custom KRpano plugin I've built. I have two equirectangular 360° panoramas (bathroom and kitchen/living area, 2:1 ratio JPGs, full resolution). I need a skilled photo editor / 3D compositor to produce alpha-masked PNG layer files for each finish variant. Each layer drops over the base panorama in exact equirectangular projection — transparent everywhere except the surface being changed. --- DELIVERABLES Two base panoramas. Seven surface categories. Each output file must meet these specs exactly or the plugin will not work: • FORMAT: PNG with full alpha channel transparency • PROJECTION: Equirectangular (2:1 ratio), same resolution as the base panorama • CAMERA LOCK: Every layer must match the base panorama's exact projection. If you re-project or re-render, the camera position cannot move. • TRANSPARENCY: The layer image is transparent (alpha=0) everywhere EXCEPT the specific surface being swapped. The changed surface area is fully opaque. • NO HALOS: Clean masking on curved and reflective surfaces (vanity, cabinet doors, tile edges). No fringing. • NAMING CONVENTION: Files named {group}_{index}.png — e.g. [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], etc. • LIGHTING: Maintain consistent lighting and shadow from the base panorama. The swapped surface should look like it was photographed in the same space, not pasted in. Approach is your call — Photoshop compositing with texture mapping, 3D re-projection, AI inpainting + manual cleanup — whatever gets to a photorealistic result. But the output must be equirectangular PNGs with clean alpha, not flat perspective edits. IMPORTANT: VERIFY YOUR ALIGNMENT Before delivering, open the base panorama in Photoshop, place your layer PNG on top at 50% opacity. The swapped surface must land pixel-perfectly on the correct geometry. Deliver only after this check passes. HOW TO APPLY Skip the cover letter. Send me three things: 1. One example of equirectangular 360° photo editing or virtual staging you have completed — link or image, with a brief description of your technique. 2. Your recommended approach for achieving clean alpha-masked surface swaps on equirectangular panoramas — specifically how you handle curved surfaces and edge masking. 3. Your estimated turnaround time and rate for 6 layers across 2 panoramas. Do not apply if you have not worked with equirectangular panoramas before. Flat perspective photo editing experience alone is not sufficient for this project. BUDGET: Open to proposals. Quality and technique matter more than lowest price. TIMELINE: Samples of 2-3 layers within one week of project start before full delivery.
