Optical Engineering Jobs
Optical Engineering is the study of using optical systems to capture, manipulate and detect certain physical properties, usually from images / videos. The Design Engineer working within this field will design and build optical systems with the purpose of measuring particular signatures from potential clients. These engineers will apply their knowledge of optics to develop real world solutions that can fully utilize microscope imaging technologies, provide visual feedback in various industries (nuclear, security, biomedical and environmental) and combine technology-driven physics with specialized imaging techniques to deliver ultra-precise technical results.
Here's some projects that our expert Design Engineer made real:
- Developing mathematical models for calculating optical properties of certain physical systems
- Constructing antenna array systems for analyzing electro-magnetic processes
- Producing light weight, 70x binocular convex lens systems for drones
- Implementing AI algorithms to strengthen hybrid wireless networks
- Performing wavelength assignments and graph coloring to optimize routing methods
- Analyzing plant nitrogen levels through image analytics techniques
- Drawing equations with Matlab scripting language

Challenge Overview and Objective Innovative solutions are urgently needed to detect, characterize, track, or remediate small debris to ensure the safety and sustainability of space operations. This competition invites creative minds from around the world to contribute groundbreaking concepts that address the critical issue of small debris in Earth's low-earth orbit (LEO) environment. Low-Earth orbit (often known as LEO) encompasses Earth-centered orbits with an altitude of 2,000 km or less. Low-Earth orbit is considered the area in Earth orbit near enough to Earth for convenient transportation, communication, observation and resupply. This is the area where the International Space Station currently orbits and where many proposed future platforms will be located. The objective of th...
I am looking to hire an experienced Optical Engineering professional to help me create design specifications for an optomechanical system. Basically I want to design a machine that can automatically, forensically scan trading cards to grade their condition. reference: I need both software & manufacturing, or at least designing the prototype for mass production. I am open to working with someone who has the skillset necessary to help me create these specifications in a timely manner. My goal is for the project to be completed within a month's time frame, but am willing to be flexible to work out a timeline that accommodates both of our needs. I am looking forward to hearing back from any experienced and qualified professionals who may be able to help me with this projec...
