We are designing a new mould for precast concrete girders. These moulds must withstand large forces due to prestressing strand. The forces act through two big "Cross head" beams sitting horizontally (These will not be modelled). The crossheads sit on two 75mm thick plates of steel to keep forces in the centre of the concrete strut as the cross head deflects.
