Contest Brief

This is a pretty simple project.

Over the next 3 years we intend to morph our current logo/name into something quite different than it currently is. However, we want to do so gradually through 1-2 versions between now and then. We would like you to create Version 1.

Version 1 is not a new logo. The color scheme should still be blue & red, though it's ok to use a different blue & red if you think it enhances the overall look. We just don't want Version 1 to be drastically different than the existing logo.

However:

1) I would like to see the red/blue "NE" icon updated. Perhaps 3D. Or a box with the "NE" as negative space. Let your imagination run free. We need to keep the shape of the "NE" relatively unchanged though.
2) We don't need the light gray border around the attached logo.
3) The "NE" icon can remain above the name "New England" or even be moved to the left of "New England"
4) We will eventually drop "Sheet Metal" from our logo so I'd be interested to see versions with "Sheet Metal" removed.
