Okay, I did a little study on what 3D rendering is... YES, it can be 3D rendered.

Ultimately it will be a 2D image as a wallpaper and the programmer operates in .psd, but if someone can just create something that fits with what's in my mind so I can show the programmer that would work. So if somebody would use a 3D render to create the look, I'm sure somebody else can recreate it as .psd.
