Magazine Cover for The LEAD Magazine - summer edition 2026.

Prize Amount: $1,000.00 USD

NEW - PLEASE NOTE - We have thousands of submissions. Avoid an instant rejection by doing the following:
1) Use the logo/headmast. Don't create a new one.
2) Be ORIGINAL.
3) See #2! Don't submit complete AI generations. AI is good for help, but not a complete design.
4) Avoid gradient metallic colors. They look great in digital but not in PRINT. This is a print magazine.
5) Simplicity always does well. Too much clutter will always be rejected.

Description:
Seeking exceptional artists with a flair for abstract art. Entries should scream originality and sophistication - with an edge!

Successful entries will include:
1. Up to 3 concepts for the magazine cover and back. 8.5 x 11 inches.
2. Must include The LEAD logo.
3. Acknowledging and accepting the roles and responsibilities (outlined below) if you are awarded the work.

Your pieces should exude creativity and be a riveting focal point for our magazine. It must include the logo on the cover. View the following link to see examples of past covers. Understand that the print editions typically have layers of physical foils, and polymers applied to the printed pages to further enhance the cover and create 3D effects.

WE SEEK ORIGINAL IDEAS AND NEW COLORS.

Roles and responsibilities if awarded:
1. Front and back cover.
2. Sourcing of graphic elements + imagery.
3. Collaboration to refine the awarded design into the final cover.
4. Deliver a full layered asset files. (High resolution PDF and an InDesign file)
5. Work with printer on any adjustments required to transition to magazine print.
