Contest Brief

We plan to develop a new class of restaurant guide and its mobile app - and we are looking for a freelancer who helps us create the ultimate, unique, flat design symbol that stands for “food” or “eating”.

The symbol or icon we have in mind has to fit perfectly into the range of flat design icons that you can find here http://designmodo.github.io/Flat-UI/ - that’s the style we like and that’s pretty much how our website will look like and where our new icon will be used. Make sure that you study those icons, their style and characteristics carefully...

Please - don’t come up with images of little chefs, spoons, knifes, forks, fish or steak. The icon we have in mind has got to be very, very abstract - and at the same time unique. Example: a flat plate and on top of it just three "things" in typical food colors (https://kuler.adobe.com/de/food-art-colors/). It’s just an example - we are open to other ideas...

This project will be just a starter: soon we’ll need the development of a complete Corporate Design and a UI of our website and our mobile app. The designer who comes up with a perfect symbol will be in the pole position to become part of our team.

I am sorry I was very unprofessional. I just found it very upsetting that you didn't let everyone know that you wanted a logo. You possibly missed out on some other very good designs. Anyways, please keep me interested if you have any more projects needed.

People! Relax! Full 6 days to go! Take your time, read my briefing at least twice, go and research a bit, understand the general rules of good flat design, be creative and come up with a surprise in a couple of days. Would make my life a lot easier :)

Dear all - many of you haven't read the briefing or haven't looked at the references I gave in it. Don't come up with forks, spoons and things like that. Don't waste our time with a fried egg on a plate. Be creative and create something abstract and unique.
