I have created 3 solutions for your project, all under same entry no.14. Regular formula, array formula and pivot table, all as separate cases. I have to agree with hemsingh1 that your contest seem to be bogus.

Hi! the presentation I had is that it sum up the quantity of all products. As you can see the same grand total from the source or group of data to our sample other sheet. I am please to help your project.

Are you asking for a total number for each Item Type, or a number of consecutive Item Types? (I am wondering what it means that "Alpha" is in the results more than one time.)

Thank you for your message. The contest requires the display in separate sheet of the sum of the quantities for each type, while also sorting them in ascending and unique alphabetical order

This is the explicit solution. You and your contest both seem to be bogus. Thank you .

Please note that you have provided a solution to another problem. I would like to receive a solution that sums the quantities and not counts the number of items as you proposed.

I can do this using formulas but I really do not see point. This is much more efficient.
