I require a sketch of a map which shows the route of the Tour de France. The image is to be used in an eBook about the Tour and will help the reader to understand the route taken. The map and the route required is shown in the .pdf document attached.

The image will be used mainly in Kindle readers and therefore does not need to be colour - black/white/grey is all that's required.

Only mainland France needs to be included, not the surrounding islands. A rough interpretation of the coastline/borders will be fine, this does not have to be geographically 100% accurate. The outline of France etc can easily be traced from the above image using Photoshop in a couple of minutes.

The eBook is fun and easy-going so I am looking for a fun sketch - something which looks like I have casually sketched it out on a piece of paper maybe?

Please keep this simple, I don't need all of the detail which is shown on the example map. The main things I need are:

1. The route taken. This starts in Liege in Belgium and travels round France in a roughly clockwise direction, finishing in Paris. Therefore please show the solid black lines with arrow showing direction of travel. There are three short black/white lines, which can be shown as a solid black line. Finally, please show the dotted lines as dotted lines in your image. If you think one continuous line around France works better, then please feel free to draw it like this. The route is not required to be shown in great detail, it is merely to give the reader a good indication of where the Tour travelled.

2. Town names. I would like some of the town names included but I will leave it to you as to whether you can fit them all in without making it look too messy or cluttered. I would like the names written neatly, as they would be in a sketch, rather than using a type font. There are a lot of town names shown so if you would prefer to submit a draft entry with just a few names detailed to give me the idea, this is fine. I can ask you to add more if I think your entry is close to what is required. This will save you a lot of time when completing a draft. Please be sure to name the countries of Belgium and Switzerland and use the English spelling.

It is not necessary to include the dates which are shown or any extra bits of information such as the key at the bottom. It is not necessary to use the coloured dots to indicate the start and finish of each journey however if you would like to use something to mark these points, that's fine.

There should be something to signify the end of the journey in Paris, maybe a chequered flag?

Finally, this trip was undertaken by cyclists and a motorhome so if you wanted to include either of these as part of the sketch, please feel free.
