School Satisfaction Surveys - info graphics

Contest Brief

I currently have 20 Australian high schools participating in a variety of online satisfaction surveys - for students, parents and staff. I have successfully found a database manager through Freelancer and that arrangement is working very well. I now need someone skilled in design and the use of info graphics software to 'tell the story of the data'.

My database manager will supply you with a spreadsheet for each school and you will need to turn that into a series of graphs, tables and illustrations to give the data impact. I am looking for a professional, academic look - something to appeal to the serious minded. In October to December 2014 - there will be up to 20 presentations to prepare.

You will need to design a template that each school's data can be loaded into. The spreadsheet provided to you will have a series of questions grouped under a number of themes. Your design will need to compare each schools results against the aggregated data. This will be obvious from the spreadsheet.

In addition to the prize money on offer the successful contestant will be offered regular work throughout the year. I am looking to build a team long term to assist me with the work. A sample data sheet for an imaginary high school is attached. Please email if you have any further questions.

      I don't think it will be printed very often. Most clients present the data on screen.

    The template generates the info Graphics I suppose, not the info graphics being a template on it's own like a software?

      Yes I like the look of both of those formats - I've seen something similar online too but I'm not sure how easy it would be to put my data into that kind of template? Your thoughts?

    is this going to be printed? or just being viewed on screen? Also, i see data will be crowded and will require multiple pages or screens.

      I plan to provide this report only in digital format. When I have presented similar material I do it on screen - normally using a data projector.

      As for the criteria - that's a good question! I will probably use the poll feature on the website to ask some of my clients to help me decide. Most of my work with them is very collaborative. I will be looking for (1) Visual Appeal (2) Clarity and Readability (3) A user friendly template or software that can be edited by others if required (4) A reasonable price per report when we get to publishing numerous survey results.

    Jeannie.. not quite sure... it might be crowded if you grouped too many in the one graph. Although you might be able to use a column graph for a group of questions and place the comparative data as a line graph superimposed? Anyway thats my hunch.. if you are familiar with the software that's out there you might see some other possibilities. Good luck.

    No necessity to use powerpoint. I'm thinking more of one of the info graphic software packages that might be around.. As we will be looking at quite a few reports it would need to be very time efficient. Thats why a template would appeal.
