Doctor UNWANTED is a junk collection business that uses a cartoon character in various positions - holding a gun, lifting a box, carrying furniture, sweeping a witches broom etc. We need a vector-drawn clipart-style cartoon character based on the example provided. Changes are required to the character's stubble and mouth to remove any similarity to the Fred Flintstone character however all else should remain the same including brown boots, green pants, blue shirt, maroon/white polka dot bow-tie.and large black hair. Successful designer will most likely secure followup ongoing work with occasional requests to supply the 'doctor' character in new poses. Please supply two drafts/sketches/mockups in different poses - one duplicating the existing pose with oversized gun and one in a new pose of your choosing (thus demonstrating your ability to draw), and not just copy. PSDs are not required until the winner is chosen. The style must be the same as the existing character with clipart-style and NOT a 3D look.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the contest. I do not have a clear winner yet, so am referring to my team for feedback before awarding the prize money. At this stage I am looking at the different mouths of the characters and the different poses looking for your ability to create new poses/positions. I like the original cartoon because he has 'character' but I didn't like his mouth and the stubble.

My advice for all contributors: Read the contest requirements CARFULLY and understand them before you charge off and do your own thing. Engage with the contest host, and don't leave it to the last minute.

  Yes we do have a different taste and style but this was communicated clearly in the brief and throughout the contest in comments. Nothing personal sir, it's just the work was off-target

Othello1 was a very early entry - congrats on your speed. You also read and understood the requirements of the contest well. 3 & 19 are possible winners.
situaction too followed the contest guidelines well and came up with a good solution, different poses, different profiles in 26
swati14 was the first to produce a different pose and might have been a serious contender if there were other poses and entries
FossilPixel produced the most options. 23 could do the job with good mouth designs
Artist4 was a late entry and had good poses (20 & 24) but missed one contest criteria which was to keep the chubby character and unfortunately deviated with a totally new cartoon design
Nitinsurti misunderstood the goals of the contest entirely
Polomanolo came up with a great looking character, but again it was only the mouth/beard that we wanted changing
Wonderland did a single standing character quite passive looking but the boxes were good

  You are doing well Othello and are a clear leader so far. You have understood the requirement to keep the character and just change his mouth/nose and keep the rest the same as we had. You have also demonstrated the ability to draw the character in another pose - something that is very important to us. Can I ask you please . . . what would be your charge to design another position after the contest has finished? If I came to you and said, can you please draw one of him walking towards us and carrying a box (infront of him) or of him side-on walking left-to-right with an old heavy mattress on his back, sweat coming off his brow, or that sort of thing, what would you charge us?

Thanks to all who have contributed thus far. Othello1 and swati14 are on the mark with their good understanding of the contest. Some feedback now that different ideas have been shared . . . I do not like the stubble, and think it should be removed. I am happy to work off sketches initially to get the look/feel right before putting the final character into vector like swati14 did but I do need at least one final vector graphic in colour. The chubby look with fat belly and a slightly oversized head appeals to me and the real character seems to come from the different expressions on his mouth. Carrying furniture, like a couch, chair, boxes or sweeping a broom look good. Feel free to contribute more ideas as you so wish to show me your ability to conceptualise and draw before the contest closes in a couple of days. Thank you for participating.
