Contest Brief

We would like the "NE" icon in the attached file to be slightly altered, and made into a 3D vector graphic. Our company was founded in 1920 as a metal working shop. So the silver color is supposed to resemble stainless steel sheet metal. We would also like to keep this dark blue color, or a color that is very similar.

The problem with the current icon is that the "sheet" is slightly too thick to be stainless steel sheet metal. We would like an attractive 3D version that has:
1) A thinner profile
2) Chamfered edges, or
3) Both 1 & 2

This shouldn't be too difficult of a project because you have an existing icon to alter.

for me if you want thick chamfered so the steel must be thick also. what's wrong with davay's entry?

We need the icon itself to keep its shape/font. I like some of the ideas in terms of rounding the seams. But for now we just want an improvement to our existing icon.
