Re-imagine an app that lets you meet new people. Essentially similar to current apps (think Tinder as inspiration) that let you flip through people's pictures, choose if you like them or not and if they pick you too it lets you send each other messages. Make at least 3 screens (main picture flipping screen, main chat list screen that shows current matches/conversations, and menu side screen). I would be interested in contracting the winner of this contest for additional screens that will differentiate my app, as well as additional app ideas.

The style of this app should be monochromatic or three color (monochromatic and a good highlight color), optimized for iOS 7. Simplicity, clean, sharp lines would be best. Logo is not necessary, a simple text-based placeholder is fine.

alejorlad - I like your concept overall, but there are a few details that are keeping me from loving it.

(1) On the first screen, thought you may have purposely made the menu text not vertically centered, I think I'd like them to be centered vertically.

(2) On the second screen, how does the user get to the screen for the matches/chats they already have? I'm thinking you're missing a button, but maybe I misunderstand something? Also, while I love the full screen photo idea, in practice I'm not sure how well that will work because not all users have high quality photos that are vertical to fill the screen without pixelation, but I think it's still a good idea so you can leave it that way.

(3) While I like that blue color, it feels like it's too light for this particular use case. Can you try a slightly darker blue?

Otherwise, good/almost great concept and I'd love to see a second draft if possible. Thanks for submitting!

  looks great! only suggestions I can make at the moment is to put some kind of separator between the iOS status bar and the top of the app (maybe a simple white line?), and possibly make the "Settings" and "Invite Friends" flat on the menu screen, instead of raised buttons just flat with a thin stroke.

layaweek - I like your design aesthetic, though you didn't completely follow my guidelines (or maybe my guidelines weren't very clear). I specifically mentioned:

"The style of this app should be monochromatic or three color (monochromatic and a good highlight color), optimized for iOS 7. Simplicity, clean, sharp lines would be best."

By monochromatic I meant black/white/grey, plus a single highlight color (if you want me to pick the highlight color then blue of various shades would be great) that would be subtle. By optimized for iOS 7 I meant using the iOS 7 style of simple, clean, sharp, flat(less gradients). Special emphasis on flat design, if you look at any of the Apple-designed iOS 7 apps they are all flat.

Things I do like about your design: great idea making the main screen photo larger, in fact I was thinking it should be even bigger and go from left edge to right edge with no rounded corners.

onehopedesign - I think you missed the point. I want the same functionality as the Tinder app ( https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tinder/id547702041?mt=8 ) but a better design, following my style guidelines.
