Mac - setup Cisco IPSec VPN (native client)

Résumé du concours

I use a web page (Java applet) to log into a Cisco VPN (IPSec) currently. The Java applet leaves an icon called "Network Connect" (attached) on my machine.

I have the LOGIN AND PASSWORD for the VPN connection, but I don't use any other certificates. The Network Connect applet is difficult to use and logs me out frequently. It then takes several steps to log back in.

So I want to use the built-in IPSec VPN client on Mac OS X (10.9) to connect. I am unable to find any config files on my system (certificates etc) but perhaps the applet stores these in a different filename or I'm not looking in the right place.

If you seem to know what you're doing you can discuss it with me on S k y p e. First person to find a working solution gets the contest. If your work contributed a large part of it, I will also consider this. I have no control over the VPN server/gateway.

Thanks and happy hacking!

In accessing your VPN is it only IPSEC? or SSLVPN is also an option? Most VPN application will save/download a PCF file on your machine in case of Cisco or Juniper. The PCF or VPN Profile file has all the information you need to setup the Mac's built-in IP-Sec.

I'm not sure about SSLVPN but I searched for a PCF file (*.pcf) with no results.

You may require access to 2 fields from the config of the Cisco router your logging into. Is this something you can request or access? Otherwise via the applet it should be encrypted and unable to be read in clear form.
