Hi,
I need a logo that will represent my startup company as well as my website.
It's a French company, so the name is in French and it's called "Ecole Citoyenne". It means literally "Citizen School". Our purpose is to help citizens in their daily life by providing them with deep trainings on various topics such as self-defense, personal finance, health... to the point they become independent on these topics.

The design of the logo should:
- be simple, modern
- express top quality, top level training/education
- be composed of 1) a logo and 2) the same logo + written next to it the name of the company Ecole Citoyenne (or around it... up to you to position the text)
- use colors that express high quality (black and white?) as well as efficacy, pragmatism, learning-by-doing/hands on type of learning (red?)

Deliverables:
- High resolution logos
- Files format: .ai, .pdf, .psd, and .eps

I don't know what happened in previous contests, and I have no time to waste for this. However, regarding this contest, let me clarify the situation by writting down here what I sent to some of you in private.

It's not because there is the use of laurel-leaf that it's the same logo than the ones mentioned via links below. The execution is completely different.

For example, take 2 cars, both have 4 wheels, doors, seats, an engine, windows, ... both use fuel, oil, brake fluid, windshield cleaning fluid, ... both are red and the seats are colored in black. You could argue the idea is similar, but the execution is completely different. I am talking of a Ferrari Enzo priced at USD 1,000,000 and a Lada Granta priced at USD 7,000.

If the execution was similar to the one you showed me, then I would have completely agreed with you, and I would have considered this as a copy. But it is absolutely not the case here. The execution is completely different. The message fits perfectly to the purpose of my company, which was not the case of previous logos designed for this contest.

I hope you understand the difference between an idea and it's execution, and as a result, I hope you would stop mentionning ideas but rather executions and the message they convey versus the mission of the company you design the logo for.

Ideas do not belong to anybody, they are all coming from many different sources and are all inspired from what exist. However, execution belong to specific persons, because they represent the expression of an idea based on that specific persons creativity. Executions are concrete. That is what really matter.

You could not argue that the Ferrari Enzo is inspired from the Lada Granta - and vice-versa - even though the original idea might be similar.

And the execution for the specific projet "Ecole Citoyenne" that has been proposed is completely different from the execution given for the other projects you mentioned. The EC really mentions our company, and the simplicity is exactly what I asked for in my brief. The leaf represents also very well both the learning - as it's an e-learning site - and the success from this learning.

  Fortunately, I was informed by a Freelancer Support Staff that job4prashu's case of copyright infringement in a home loan contest is currently processed by the Contest Department of Freelancer. Expect to see job4prashu's account being suspended for the next few days. Copycats like job4prashu do not deserve to win such contests especially when they just copy or infringe logos.

icon represent citizen around a table working/being educated together...building them...helping them grow stronger. Position in a way to form an abstract flower representing prosperity blossom, growing in peace.
Color are as you desired. Maybe change though even the position of the text with respect to the icon.
