I want to be able to attach- lock and then detach a flat device from under a table. It is designing a way of securing a device under a table so it is easy to slid in and out but at the same time secured from theft when locked. I have a restaurant and want to provide charged power banks to customers per their request. I want to be able to slid the power bank under the table and when the client leaves I want to sild out the power bank to charge it again.

A key thing is that I am open to glue the locking menchanism to the power bank itself.

No, under the table there is only the rails. The person slides the box in the rails under the table. The powerbank inside the box is secured, and the box itself is secured to the table. Customer uses the power bank and then leaves. Waiter uses a key to unsecure the box from the table, another key to open to box

If I understand the brief correctly, the whole locking mechanism along with the body will be fastened under the table. And you should be able to insert and lock any device which you want to secure. Correct?

Is this locking mechanism built into the table, into the device or a separate unit? Also is there a specific device to go into this locking mechanism?

Building the locking mechanism on the device will not help. As the mechanism will have no use except the box in which it will be used. So it is ideal to keep the locking mechanism and a box fixed under the table.

This would be a cool way to lock the power bank enclosure to the table. http://amzn.com/B0134PAH0A Have the enclosure slide in place under the table with a simple rail system and have the male end of this locking device attached to the enclosure and the receiver end attached to the underside of the table.
