Hi there, we need to illustrate a process (user case) for a daily deals site.
We got this site (www.affordance.com.ar) which has the template that we are using, its mostly a work in progress but it should be enough to guide you (other references are provided too).
We dont know yet where we are going to place the banner.
The process has 5 steps.
We can use an image per step as top position develope template which maybe can give us the flexibility to use this horizontal and vertical; or just one image as bottom position develope template.
The only dimension restriction will be 960px width.
You can use text also (remember that english text will be replaced by spanish translation and not many times that means the same amount of letters).
You have to be simple, so simplify at will

Deliveries must be properly layered, easy editable and complete sources provided.

jquery animate the thing? would you like to provide this as html? Well, not necesary at all but if you want to i think it could be great!
