I am a computer science teacher and I want to learn my the students better programming.

I want to do research: "Do programming skills improve by doing codereviews or make changes in code of others?"
For that I am searching for literature (to write a thesis).

So the question is:
- Why do you people learn better programming if they do codereviews? or
- Why do you people learn better programming if they make changes in code of other persons?
