Résumé du concours
My friend and I are going to the World Police and Fire Games 2015 in Fairfax Virginia. Over 10 000 firefighter and police officers are competing in 60 different sports against each other.
To take some gifts for foreign firefighters we are looking for a firefighter logo on a t-shirt or/and as a patch. My former colleague in another city (Stuttgart) and I did one design before. I've added it as a sample picture. You can also find some other samples if you search for firefighter patch or firefighter shirt.
Our Fire Departments are based in Essen and Dortmund, Germany. This is a very industrial area. They were winning coal over centuries and used it to produce steel. The famous german company Krupp steel was founded in Essen and is the reason why the whole city was destroyed in the 2nd World War. The area is changing now. More technical and computer industries settle down but you will always connect these cities to coal and steel.
The idea was to combine the bravery and brotherhood of the firefighters with the past of the cities. The mole is the typical animal which stands for digging for coal. He should look bravery and strong. I've added a picture which I really like. The mole stands for coal mining, so he needs some typical firefighter equipment like a helmet, (uniform?) ,halligan tool, maybe a hose pack over his shoulder or something else.
In the background I thought about flames and a mine car. But I am also open to everything else. In my sketch I used a cogwheel to edge the mole. At the bottom of the mole there is a silhouette of popular buildings of Essen and Dortmund. From left to right it is the harbour, the U Tower (former brewery), the Florian tower (highest building), pit Zollverein (very famous...added a picture), and the soccer stadium of Dortmund (biggest one in Germany and popular around the world)
Please use the shape "custom_fire_department_patches.jpg" as the basic shape. The logo will be used on a dark blue T-shirt
