There is already a logo in place for this company, and it is attached. Unfortunately the bird caricature you see is a royalty-free graphic, and there is no copyright available. But we need our own copyright and our own caricature -- and a few related versions of it. The text will stay as it is.

The bird that's currently used is similar to what we want. Unfortunately it appears face-forward, and therefore both eyes are visible. To properly represent the name "Bird's Eye", the caricature we need should face sideways with just one eye visible. It's not important to exactly copy the style, as long as the new bird is likeable.

The royalty-free bird is blue. Unfortunately that's too similar to the Twitter bird, and we do not want to look similar. For that reason, we will consider all submissions in colours that are NOT blue.

Finally, once an appropriate graphic is chosen, we will require three more versions of the bird, for example, looking up, facing straight ahead, looking down, or whatever positions the artist might suggest. A talented artist will have many ideas about how to show these. But before these versions are drawn, we must first decide on the most important bird, the one for the masthead bird (looking sideways), and the other versions will be created after the contest has been decided.
