The designs were interesting and indicated a combination of the themes at the event. I assumed that 17 was the front and 18 the back etc. the formatting of the text was too basic and the font was not in vintage modern style. Also the lady was repeated too many times. Thank you for your entry and good luck!

    Refining the Brief:
The event is horse-racing but the image you've attached is of a woman. I take it the main thing is horse-racing (but up-market, more Ascot rather than old geezers with betting slips), just so I know what I'm going to illustrate. From what you've said, that's what I imagine you mean; that it's a classy, high society even.

ALSO; do you have a high res logo for; naughtsandcrossesevents?

I guess the illustration doesn't always have to be so directive on the theme... What I mean is just because it's a spring racing event, doesn't mean you need to have horses.... The image we supplied is a woman, and a Bernard illustration that captures the feel and tone and subtle undertones of our afternoon event.

I'm really digging that vintage style. Should be a fun project. But first - tell me in what resolution would you like this? Standard Australian postcard size is 105mm × 148mm, would you like that?

      oops!
      > Size: 105mm × 148mm
      > Bleed: 3mm
      > Resolution: 300dpi
      > 4 colour process/CMYK (1,2,3 colour means you’re using a pantone colour; very expensive cos it’s exact. Only really used for branding/logo)
      > CMYK (ensure all images are 300 dpi and converted to CMYK not RGB. RGB is incorrect for print design and your prints colours will come out very flat)

I would also recommend to convert all fonts to outlines so that there are no missing font issues.

      Hope these help :)

Hi, is this still open? I'm new to Freelancer (but not to design, I have over 15 years experience as a Senior Graphic Designer/Art Director with a Fine Art background).
I really love the brief for this and have no doubt many others do too so competition will be fierce. Particularly like your creative direction (Bernard Villemot, his stuff reminds me a lot of Matisse. I love the deceptive simplicity of just cut outs and shapes and the vibrant use of colour).
So, please just let me know if it's still on. If so, I can make up some designs over the weekend ready for Monday.

Hello. Unfortunately the contest is closed now, and we received some amazing entries too. Yes the style of Bernard is superb and very much in line with Matisse's later works. We needed this invite done very quickly so only ran the contest for 3 days!!
