Contest Brief

We are to develop an Android app and need a mockup for the user experience design and application flow that can be used as input to the app developers. Therefore, to enter this competition you must have extensive UI and mockup experience on mobile devices.

The app is called Farmtracking (FT) and the purpose of it is to provide Danish farmers with an opportunity to receive practice-aimed information and decision support at the right place at the right time. In short FT keeps track of the user’s position using the phone’s GPS. By combining the position with data in a central database it is decided by the business logic behind whether a notification should be send to the phone.

Originally we intended to develop FT using PhoneGap and HTML5 with JQuery Mobile. With this set-up in mind we made a crude paper mock-up to illustrate how the FT pages and flow could look.

We need fresh eyes on the design and a new mockup that will make FT look and feel like an awesome, easy to use Android app. So don’t feel confined by the existing mockup - we are ready to kill our darlings. You need to comply with the Android Design guidelines http://developer.android.com/design/index.html.

To enter the competition you need to provide us with at new design for at least 3 pages. We would like the mockup to include preliminary, sketchy icons as well as a product icon.

For the winner of the completion we will create a project afterwards to finish the mockup.
We’ll pay 50$ pr. page, 25$ pr. icon and 50$ for a product logo

You must speak fluent English as future discussions will be conducted using Skype.

  Mark Mobile is an existing HTML5 web application that we consider linking to. If we implement a link, Mark Mobile will open in a browser. Ideally there should be a link for each field as field 6 would open Mark Mobile on another page than field 7.
