Contest Brief

Northern Home Essentials is a business that serves clients in remote areas of northern Saskatchewan, Canada. We receive orders from these clients for household items that are difficult to find or extremely expensive where the clients live. We purchase and deliver these items to the airport, where they are shipped (by other companies) to our clients. The clients can request any household items or 'Home Essentials' (such as clothes, furniture, and groceries) and we will purchase them and send the items up north. We do forecast, though, that most of our sales will consist of grocery items and food.

The logo should be something that looks professional and welcoming to the clients. Our actual interaction with the clients will be minimal, so the logo should create a positive impression on them. I don't want any logos to depict the 'Northern' as arctic or tundra, as northen Saskatchewan is a geographically boreal area. It should be pleasing to the eye of the customer.

It might be beneficial (but not necessary) if the logo can emphasize that by 'home essentials', we can obtain any household item that the client needs.
Another possibility might be incorporating something found in northern Saskatchewan into the logo, like the northen lights or the spruce trees, but I'll leave it to you to decide if this should be included.

I think it'd be better if the logos don't focus solely on houses. I don't want my business to be misconstrued as, say, a construction business. It remains primarily a service business to obtain essential home products for the clients.
I think it'd also be better if the "Essentials" part could be emphasized more, as that is the nature of the business and I'd like to communicate that to my clients.
