Contest Brief

UPDATE - Due to the amount of work everyone has put in, I have increased the prize to $50. I hope this also attracts new entries and ideas from new and existing entrants!

I need a logo for a competition cooking team named Old 99 Meat Co.

We will be competing in BBQ, steak, and chili cookoffs, as well as any other type of cooking contest that we might run into. I need the logo in a vector format. I will prefer submissions that include a single color version as well as a color version, but this is not necessarily required. The logo will be used on our social media accounts, team shirts, banners, and other promotional material. I'd love to find a designer I like working with in this contest so that I can continue to use them in designing those other items once we establish the logo and color scheme.

Here is a little about us that might help you:

We are based in The Woodlands, TX which is just outside of Houston. We will mainly be competing in the gulf coast and central parts of Texas, but may do some traveling outside of that.

We picked the number 99 because we are big JJ Watt and Houston Texans fans, and our initial plan was to just wear JJ Watt jerseys to our contests, but I'm hoping we can do better than that!

Due to us being Houston Texans fans, and the high likelihood we will be tailgating at Texans games, we were initially thinking about using their team colors in our logo. I'm open to other ideas, but that's what I started with when I tried (miserably) designing it myself.

If there is any way to accomplish it, I'd like to get an old/western/rustic feeling, while still feeling fresh and modern. I know that doesn't make sense, but I know a lot of the artists on this site are very talented, so some of you will be able to amaze me!

Edit: Sorry, I feel silly for forgetting to include the actual name of the team in the inital post. We will be called "Old 99 Meat Co."

Thanks once again for everyone that entered. I really like a lot of the designs. In the end we ran a poll and after 62 people voted design #83 came out as the clear winner.
