Contest Brief
I would like a simple logo, designed for a designer clothing brand. The brand is:
Burt Macklin
I wish to embroider the logo onto polo shirts and dressing gowns. I also plan to start a fragrance line at some point in the future.
In terms of style, I would like something simple but typographic and elegant. It is a sophisticated brand for mature men. Use any colours you want. Find some inspiration here:

The final file should be a vector format such as .ai, .eps or .pdf.
Feel free to ask me any questions. Thanks in advance.

It's certainly looking better. If you would like to keep improving it my suggestion would be to continue working with the BM to try to make it look more hand drawn. Try to think of an organic formation which someone might actually write, just like a signature.

It's not bad but reminds me more of a structural/architectural theme. Keep in mind the keywords of the brief which are: simple, typographic, elegant and sophisticated. A high-quality italic serif font might be a good place to start.

Yeah sure. It's pretty good and I like the BM aspect within the hexagons. I don't think it's ideal having Burt Macklin on one line with the BM in the middle. Long logo's like that can be problematic when applied to certain media such as square advertising banners, etc. My suggestions:
- Try working with the BM hexagon part primarily and consider using the full name at a reduced scale either underneath or to the right.
- The hexagons look cool but aren't necessarily descriptive of a stylish clothing label. Maybe a more sophisticated font for the BM or perhaps try working with different shapes.
Good work so far though.- 11 years ago

Hi, I like what you've done with the single hand stroke bm but it would be better if it was more fluid like a real hand-drawn pen stroke, and more closely resembled the letters bm. Additionally, the font you've used for "Burt Macklin" should probably be a more formal serif to contrast with the hand drawn bm. Good work so far though.
