  Hi, folks. Sorry for the delay on this, but we had a lot of discussion about it. Very tough choice. So many great entries. A big thank you to everyone for your entries, and please stay tuned, as I'll probably be doing another similar contest soon for another thing.
  
  We decided to go with #83 . The look of the picture isn't quite right... he submitted that right near the end and didn't have time to change it... but the style is what we were hoping for, and the words alone grabbed us in a simple but effective way. The look of it is a little more rock 'n' roll, but although we are a kids' music act, our musical style is actually more rock oriented. So that ended up being the best fit. Congrats to Pedro1973 and we look forward to working with you to hone the picture on that a little bit.

     #80 and #81 are better. Something about the colors still feels off to me. Maybe it's just the orange "and" at this point, but it doesn't seem to sit well with everything.

     The "and" is much better the way it is now. But I'm not so sure about the colors, still. It's a lot better, though.

  #47 is very good. The only thing is (and I think this should probably be a general note for everyone), I think the "and" should be smaller, so "Puppy Dog Dave" stands out a little better.

  I like the general look and idea of #45 (and a little better than #46 ), but I'm not sure that an "E" really means a whole lot on its own. Maybe "EH" would be better. Otherwise, something like a smiley or other thing might work. Or the tie, like someone else did.

     I'm not really crazy about any of those, to be honest. The font is pretty good on #27 , but I'd like to see the "Eric Herman" all in CAPs. Also, there are no drum sticks involved in this act, and the music clef isn't really grabbing me as a symbol. Sorry, but please feel free to try some other ideas.

     You know, the more I look at it, I kind of like #27 , but just for the text of it. I'm not sure if the color scheme is quite right. But maybe "Eric Herman" doesn't need to be all caps. Anyway, if you want to play around a bit more with that, I'd be interested to see what else you can come up with.

  #37 , a full drum set also doesn't work for us. We're a two piece act; I sing and occasionally play guitar, and Dave plays guitar and uses one kick drum only. Also, though I don't have the aversion to Comic Sans that many have (I think that style actually works pretty well for kids), I still don't want to use it. That may not be "Comic Sans," exactly, but it looks too close to that.

     #38 , it's pretty good, but the font style feels more like "fiesta" or "Cinco de Mayo," than what we represent, which is more comedic rock music for kids.

  #23 is pretty good, but the "and" doesn't look right how it is, and I like the way it looks on the drum better than the logo on its own. However, if you're gonna have me in there, it almost seems like there should be a picture of Dave in there, too, maybe coming out of the bottom, upside-down? I'm not sure. Not bad, overall. The font could be a little better, though.

  #19 , it's close, but the way you have the color gradiant there reminds me of when your printer is running out of ink and it prints like that. Maybe try the color change more linear or gradual, as opposed to kind of half and half as you have it. Also, with the angle of the color shift being one way on the name, and another on the smiley, it feels a little strange. I don't think the smiley needs any color gradiant.

  #18 , I don't see how a guy playing a conga drum is going to fit for us. Not a bad layout, if you can find a different image for in between the "E" and the "H." But I also think the font needs to be a little less formal.

  #21 , I'm not sure about the sun, but I definitely don't like the color green for "Puppy Dog Dave." Pretty good, though, overall.

  #20 is very good, but can you make the "and" smaller, so the "Puppy Dog Dave" has some distinction? And something looks a little funny about the little round part at the bottom of the "C," as if it might be a "G."

  The more I look at #15 , I'm not crazy about the font (a little too bubbly) or coloring (what we're wearing in the pictures is standard for us, so you don't want to clash with that). But I do like the star with the tie idea, so maybe you could try something else with that?

  #17 : I like it, but the "and Puppy Dog Dave" font is kind of bland. Plus, I'm not sure we want to go with the kick drum as the focus graphic. We're really more of a guitar/vocal duo, and Dave happens to accent some of the more rhythmic songs with some kick drum.
  
  #16 : I may not have been clear enough in the instructions in the brief... The photo isn't supposed to go into the drum head. I was suggesting that you might want to include a picture of the logo in the drum head, along with your logo entry, to show how it would look in there. (Not necessary to do, at all, but just a suggestion.)
  
  #15 : Pretty good. I really like the tie in the star, but not on the "i" of "Eric." Also, perhaps the color scheme of my shirt and tie could be adapted, so the tie is yellow/gold and the star is blue?

  Hi, folks. Thanks for the entries so far. I have several notes to hopefully get you going in a better direction... As a general guideline, I'd prefer if you worry more about how the TEXT of the logo looks, and not so much on adding pictures and musical notes and graphical stuff like that. If the text works, then maybe something else can be added as well.
  
  At this point, #4 is the best, by far, because it's readable, and the included graphic is fitting (the single kick drum), and I like the smiley face on the drum, which gives it a kids/family flavor. It might be a little odd for an image with a kick drum to then be pictured on a kick drum, but I think it will still work well, and should work great outside of the kick drum. Plus, there's always the option to not include the kick drum, as it's not connected with the text. I like that. Great job on that one.

  Another quick note about #5 and #8 , that also applies in general... Please make sure the "and" is in there somewhere. "Eric Herman and Puppy Dog Dave."
  
  Also, for #5 , I like the coloring of the text, but I don't like the coloring on us, especially my yellow hair. I do kind of like the idea of the two of us in there, though, so I added another picture of us (file number ends in 5474) where the guitar and microphone are being held correctly... maybe you could try incorporating that into this idea, and try it with the text colored but us in black (or a solid color)? But again, be mindful of how we look... can't have the "angry eyes." Actually, the coloring of us might work, but you'd have to adjust more specifically... no yellow hair for me, and my arms shouldn't be colored when my face isn't, etc.
